Blah Blah Blah I'm Ready for the season

Another 24" of snow forecast here in the Boston suburbs. Yeah. Feeling the season. Any minute now.

Hopefully in 75 days, I will tow my 310 the 90 miles to the lake. I guess the actual date depends on the Corp of Engineers and whether they hold the water back as they should!

Our lake needs to come up 75' to reach summer pool. Normally they start holding it back on the first of April and, depending on the rain and snow melt off, can have near full in two weeks; the middle of April is usually the opening weekend. Last year I guess the melt off started early and it was within 10' of summer pool the last week of March. Instead of leaving it, they drained it all the way down to winter pool. :smt009

I guess somewhere in the book it says "Maintain winter pool until April 1". They caught allot of flack over that snafu! :smt038
It was May 6th before we could launch. :smt013

I look forward to a great season!

You asked for it! We are supposed to have 70 degree days this weekend and we are heading to a local marina for an overnight. They are having a crab feed so we will stuff our faces, drink some cocktails and pass out on the boat! I love the West Coast...

Wow, 75' between summer and winter pool. Our lake may go 10-15 feet and you need to know the channel well if cruising during winter pool.

Your lake must be quite deep to change that much.

You can have 70 degrees without having to deal with the "left" coast:grin::smt021

Our marina floats at about 40' at summer pool... so it's on the ground now. In season the main channel and in front of the dam is anywhere between 200'-300'.

Somebody entertain me. I don't care about winter projects. Give me some hope. Let's talk about the season!!!

Jay, this is why I like Lanier a little more than Allatoona. We have been out 2 times in the last month on Sunny 50+ degree days and it has been beautiful. Leave up some canvas and turn up the heat in the cabin and it is really nice. Lake is only down 1' from full pool according to the dam gauge.:wow::thumbsup:

Lets me get a little fix when I need it. The kids are NOT interested but the wife and I like how flat and calm the lake is. Only us and a few fishermen to worry about.

How are you guys doing??
