I am a minority. Some refer to me as brown. I know first hand what it is to live in a foreign country where the language is not your first. But, I became a U.S. citizen. My dad stood with me at the Immigration and Naturalization building in downtown Miami, Fl many years ago. Back when you arrived so early it was dark only to find a line blocks long of people waiting just to apply for residency.

Fast forward to all this statue toppling, and BLM BS, and "systemic racism" and all the corporations bending the knee to these militant groups that have no care about black people, and don't get me started on the NFL and Roger Goodell.

Today I feel a little racist I have to say. I'm getting fed up with all this BS about BLM, and watching the violence, 99 people shot in Chicago this past weekend, black on black crime I might add.

The statues, the limp wristed (is that bigoted?) politicians, the lack of black community leaders standing up for our country and its history. The toppling of all the statues and the defacing our monuments was really the last staw.

I better not hear one black dude or baby momma give me shyte about racism and repression because I'm no longer in their camp. They get what they deserve. The burning and destruction, not to mention the violence and murder of their own...after all the handouts.

They've lost this Cubano.

I'd like to add this to your post please. I will delete if you wish.

For 20+ years I worked with one of the best FD brothers I could have ever had. His wife is a beautiful light skinned black. She was very smart and loves everyone. Other blacks discriminated and hated her due to her skin color. They bad mouthed him because he married a light skinned lady. I've never understood these actions.

These monuments they are destroying just show me how much how dumb they really are, not just the blacks but all those who have caved and joined the line of ignorance. R.E. Lee never owned a single slave. He detested slavery. When his wife's (Mary) passed away he willed them some slaves. Lee gave them their freedom, gave them homes on his land, and paid them to work. He didn't stand with the Confederatcy he stood with Virginia.

There is a great deal more that can learned from history but one must be willing to learn.

dwna, do you have a link to the info about R.E. Lee not owning slaves? There's a big move on in our area to change one of the major streets from "Lee Blvd" to something else. It would be nice to have something I could email to the city council members.

dwna1, you probably should read that article more thoroughly. It clearly states that Lee was a slave owner and this is from that article:

"“If you judge him by his actions, he separated families through sale, he beat slaves who ran away,” said Ariela Gross, professor of law and history at University of Southern California. Gross focuses on race and slavery in the United States. “He was completely engaged in the work of slave holding and supporting slavery.”

There are several biographies written about Lee including many written by Selby Foote.

If you never read his books pick one up and check it and his writings out. Many writers always seem to favor one side or the other and it shows in their writting. Foote never favored the South or the North.

The Lost Cause and a book written by the Smithsonian both go into detail of Lees pre civil war live. If you'd rather watch the Ken Burns The Civil War.

El, I will read the AP article

I am open minded to the article. As a note, IF the AP had left out the section regarding the Floyd incident I'd be more open minded.

The article talks about Lee owning a "handful of slaves" these slaves were freed. Mary's father did own slaves, that part is true. I will add to this Lees resignation letter to the U.S. Army. Just give me a few minutes to locate it

r secession, President Lincoln sent an unofficial representative, Francis P. Blair, Sr., to ask Robert E. Lee to take command of the United States Army. At this meeting, Lee spoke of his devotion to the Union and then asked to speak to fellow Virginian Winfield Scott. Lee told Scott that he would resign. The old Mexican War hero replied, “Lee you have made the greatest mistake of your life.”

In a letter to his sister, Anne Marshall, Lee explained, “I have not been able to make up my mind to raise my hand against my relatives, my children, my home. I have therefore resigned my commission in the Army, and save in defense of my native State, with the sincere hope that my poor services never be needed, I hope I may never be called on to draw my sword.”

His children, his home....Virginia. My kin fought and died not fighting for or against slavery. They fought and died for Virginia.

History kinda depends on who's doing the writing. Here is what Wesley Norris had to say, http://fair-use.org/wesley-norris/testimony-of-wesley-norris

Very interesting. If you read Roman history you will find similar. It does not make it correct. Slavery takes many forms and the one we have today is minimum wage jobs. Debt is what keeps people in slavery. The reward used to be debt free at 65 when you owned a house and had a pension. That has changed for most as there are many that retire with debt. Then there are the new people that feel all they need to do is take what they want without working for it. In times past the people with authority would stop them; but now it does not seem to happen as it cost you votes. It is now coming to the point people expect the government to save them from their dismal life without them working. We boat in Washington State for a month in the fall. There are many parks that were built during the depression by young men who worked for little but got fed and housed. They did it rather than starve, because the alternative was lining up for soup and sleeping under a bridge. When I was going to school my parents were very anti trades. You needed a University degree to be rich. Not so a trades person make more than most graduates and they have a job and they work hard. We as a society need to instill in all that hard work gets you freedom and a fun life. One of my questions when hiring a new engineer was "Do you change the oil in your car".

Well... who cares whether he had slaves, indentured servants, mistresses, or boyfriends?

WTF does it have to do w today?

Nothing going on today has anything to do w “slavery”.

It’s all about anarchy and hate for Trump and our country.

Quite frankly the blacks are overplaying their hand on all this “systemic racism” bull crap.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the black cause overplayed isn’t causing ill feelings towards them by general public.

I have had engineers stand up and walk out of an interview when I asked them if they would work on the shop floor

What surprises me, is how easily people are influenced....

Perhaps these videos will provide some insight....

Those more intelligent, mask their true agenda so it's framed in a way to manipulate the easily influenced... "You are not for us you're against us", etc...

But here we have a video by a psychologist that unwittingly discusses the psyops behind the movements and how they've matured over the years...The millennials are the "hippies" of today...And the naive hippies still alive are marching right along and bowing down...

Here is a video that interviews a "leader" of this movement and she clearly says what she and others of this movement truly want...They are just getting the naive to go along. I think they just pushed their hand too far and now some of those that were stupidly for this movement are starting to realize who most of these people are....

Curious what America would look like it blacks were the majority....Seriously, how would that play out? How are the nations regarding race where this is the case?

Michelle Obama who claims "America has never been great", VP? Biden isn't the issue as he likely wouldn't last the term and the Dems know it...It's all about the VP...
