Bimini top support?

I'd like to let the furled and bagged bimini top swivel forward across the windshield when mounted but not deployed (indulge me). It should have a temporary support in the center and a crutch works perfectly. Does anyone have an idea for a support that is more nautical and less ominous?

Any reason you don't want to let it rest on the sunpad?

You'd need to cut a hole in the cover to allow the crutch to poke through, wouldn't you? But, if it rests on the windshield, that's plenty of support.

Before you go too far with this, check to make sure the fittings don't bind when folding the bimini forward. In some cases, they do.
