Hello! I have a 1981 sea ray cuddy cabin 210. On my recent trip the Bimini cover flew off on the highway and our Bimini top decided it was a good day to try and be a parachute. Our Bimini is ripped to shreds and completely non repairable. We went to a few different Bimini top shops and they told us that the material is discontinued and to fix would cost well over $2000 because we have the full enclosure with zippers. Can anyone steer me in the correct direction of how to proceed? Or reaching out on a limb would anyone have or know someone with a similar Bimini top for sale?

Quality canvas is quite expensive, as you're seeing. Perhaps check in with Great Lakes Boat Top (they sponsor this site I think). If there is a stock option they may have it. If not, a local canvas company will be your only other option really.

For what it's worth, in my experience there can be massive differences is workmanship in canvas. If you get a quote for $4k and a quote for $2k...there's a reason, and it's probably not the material they are using :)

Unfortunately, trying to find a used top to match is going to be harder than finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. If anyone knows of a source, it might be KevinC. Reach out to him. But I think you're going to be stuck with having it made for you.

Since you said "bimini" that sounds like you may have a custom enclosure to start with? The standard top would have been a "convertible" top where the top attached directly to the windshield with no clear windows between it and the windshield.

I realize this doesn't help now, but for the future... those tops are not designed to withstand highway speeds and it specifically NOT recommended to do so. Always stow everything away.
