Thinking of a run over from Ft Lauderdale the week of 8/7 - 8/15 if the weather/seas cooperate. Any interest? Alternate will be Miami Beach, Boca Chita and/or Keys.

Hello Ididntdoit,

I am taking delivery of my boat midweek and although premature for a crossing this upcoming weekend, we would like to make some new friends for future trips to and from Bimini. I have never run across the gulf stream despite 23 years experience of coastal boating in FL and find "safety in numbers" so perhaps we can make the run sometime.

Hello forum and fellow Sea Ray owners. We have purchased a beautiful Sea Ray 240 Sundancer with only 15 hours on this brand new 5.7L MercCruiser and only 188 hours on the boat itself. We are also looking to cross the Gulf Stream next year and have already outfitted the boat with a nice Garmin Chartplotter and will continue to add to the boat to make it a safe and fun trip. What are the thoughts besides really watching the weather and preparation as to the boats ability to cross the Gulf Stream? We'd love to go with a group since it will be our first time.

Already thinking about next summer......will definitely be crossing then - in the mean time, anyone up for a keys trip over christmas break? Alex had a great time last year (there was a great thread) and we'll be there 12/27-1/1 - if there is interest, i'll start a thread

We might be interested. We've never boated down there but have the charts in the Garmin and love that area. Would probably trailer down and then launch. It would be fun to go with someone that knows the waters there well.
