BILGE PUMP ISSUES

I have a 2002 260 Sundancer. The bilge has water just above the red & white pump. When I turn the pump on via the main console the light comes on but no sound and the pump does nothing. I'm going to pump out all of the water from the bilge. What I'm I checking for first. From what I've read the float switch could be clogged so, I'll pull that up first. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

The first thing you need to do is get a voltage tester and see if there is 12 volts at the pump. If yes! change the pump.

Could just be a faulty float switch. Try putting 12 volts directly onto the pump to verify the float switch.

even with a bad (or stuck) float switch the pump should run when activated from the dash switch.....
