During winter lay up I found my rear bilge pump float switch is not working. Pump works ok on manual. On my 98,310 Sundancer it is located under my geni. Does anyone know a way to get to it? It looks like the geni may have to come out or be moved forward to gain access.

:smt021Yes you have to get the generator loose and out of the way ,But first You have to get the engine exhaust out,I had the pleasure to do such a job without help and it was a pain:smt013:smt013 but it can be done ,the problem is that the wires come from the back and your arms will not reach them , after you get the generator move out is fairly fast .p s try everything as you are getting each item back in place.(bilge pump ,float switch, generator exhaust, generator it self, and each engine exhaust)good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know your layout, so this is just an idea...

Can you reach the wiring enough to install a new float switch in a more accessible location (leave the old one there)?

Or, how about an all-in-one automatic bilge pump (leave both the float switch and current pump where they are) in a better location?

That's an idea but you have to rewire and have to move everything to get to them the first time and another thing the floor in the bilge is in steps so if you move it foward you will have to much water on the bilge area, another thing you have both bilge pumps in the same area (manual and high water)

Yeah, I just wasn't sure how easy it was to access the wires - or whether there was a good place to remount. Just taking a chance as it might have made things easier. Thanks for clarifying, though! :smt001
