Ok,so yesterday decided to wash out the bilge and noticed the pump was a little slow to start pumping overboard. Took the pump loose from the strainer basket, and it spun freely and there did not appear to be any obstructions in the impeller. In following the pump outlet hose, it looks like there's a check valve mounted on the inside transom (see picture - item is blue colored). I figured there was either an air lock or maybe an insect built a nest in the thru hull, or maybe the check valve could be going bad. Parts Manual calls this the "294488 Valve, Check Plas W/O Spring 1" FTP." No results when I "googled" this. Anyone ever replaced one of these things? If so, where did you source it?

Personally I would want nothing to stop the flow of water out of a boat. If your outlet is well above the water line , remove it.
If the outlet IS NOT well above the waterline, cap that thruhull and install a new one higher up,

If you googled for exactly what you wrote, I'm not surpised you didn't have any luck. Those are not really "words", you know? All it is is a check valve for a 1" hose. I'm sure you can find it that way. Or call your local Sea Ray dealer with that part number. They can get it for you - probably about $20-$25.

But I wouldn't just replace it without first making sure it's bad or that something else isn't the issue. Take it apart... put a barb in there... etc. You mentioned the pump spun freely, but that doesn't really tell if it's 'healthy'.

I did disconnect the drain hose from the lower side and gently pushed a screwdriver thru it, and water flowed out into the bilge. I'll fill part of the bilge with a garden hose next time I'm at the boat, and see what happens, but suspect it was an air pocket since I'm pretty good at making sure the bilge is dry.
