I got "burned" one night at anchor when bilge lights were on overnight, CO monitor went off at 4am due to low battery (a rude way to wake up... beeping due to low voltage just like home smoke alarm low bat). Turns out my wife (OK, may have been me) hit the switch accidently and without the LED on I didn't notice.

The switch easy to bump as you go down the steps to the cabin, so need to get it fixed. What is the best option

1. Replace switch, figure out p/n and order from ??

2. Take apart switch and fix, maybe soldier in new LED?

3. Leave it and blame wife if it happens again. It likely won't happen again, last step when on the hook and on batteries is to see current draw, the bank of bilge lights draw a bunch (10A?).

If your bilge lights are incandescent, consider replacing them with LED bulbs. Much less power draw and heat. If they are LED now, disregard!

That is something I probably will do, and yes the draw will go down a bunch (4x less? can't recall).

But I do want that switch to indicate lights on just in case!

Thanks, and that answered the question that I can just change the LED (not have to replace switch).
Yes - the indicator light pulls out, cut and splice the new one in (two wires), press it back in.

Thanks for that info, mine has been out for months and needed to add that to the list to figure out. Part on order.
