I just bought a 2008 290DA (delivery is on the 7th of March) and I have been learning about it by reading the electrical diagrams. One thing I saw in the diagrams and don't understand is the bilge hatch actuator lockout. I fully understand the actuator, but I don't understand why it would need a lockout and what condition(s) cause it to be locked out? The electrical diagram is not very clear as to what conditions cause it to be locked out. Any advice? As always, thanks.

Until someone else chimes in (not very familiar with your specific model), I would bet there is a switch for the transom door that must be in the full open or closed position in order for the engine hatch to move….

That is how the 320DA hatch is wired - the transom door must be fully open or the hatch will not come up. Without this lockout, you could rip the transom door off the boat.

OK. I understand the why, now. Can anyone verify this interlock with the transom door being full open on a 290DA? (The boat gets delivered next Monday, so I can't verify right now.)
