Bilge blower going bad

Anyone else have the bilge blower go on them within the first year on a new boat? Just curious as mine is about to die. Sounds like the bearings or bushing (which ever it has) are about shot. I'm assuming it's covered under waranty though.

Mine spun the fan off of the shaft just not in the first year, went to boatersworld and bought a new one, as it turned out it was the same one.

My blower aslo started making an odd noise. Mind you I have a 1992 200 Overnighter, and the noise started in 2005. I checked it out and found the fan had come off. I was able to have on delivered from MarineEngine.com for less than it would cost at my local marine supply.

the ones in that boat are dirt cheap, when you replace it consider putting something a bit better in.

I may just do that. I'd rather pay for a good one and not have to worry about it than have another cheap one put in.

My 30 week ender had a blower fail shortly after I bought the boat. Covered under warranty and lasted the 10 years I owned that boat. My new boat has had both blowers replaced under warranty.

Mine stopped working so I took it apart and found the brushes we corroded. Scraped them off and put a little WD on them and they have worked fine since!
Not too hard to figure out, but I'm curious like that!

When I took it out there was enough play in the fan that the blades were hitting the sides of the tunnel. So that's what the noise was

Yep, mine has started making a terrible sound. Calling the dealer on Monday. Weird thing, when I turned off the blower, the hatch started closing on its own. Did that twice.
