Wow, just discovered this thread. I am hoping thing work well for you!

We did just the opposite...We were sitting and talking and turns out the MH was not our happy place. Way worse for me. I know a lot of folks enjoy so I won't go negative...

We took a 7,500 mile trip this mid February to mid March and took the SUV. That worked out great. MH was listed for sale when we got back and even after adding the purchase and all of the upgrades and remodeling, we put some money in our pockets. The market was, and may still be hot for RVs.

As far as boating, there is so much to see and visit up here. We really have just scratched the surface. As we speak, the former "Life's Good" is back in Gig Harbor for a nice visit with folks here that we know. Wife cannot wait to get out and go.

Canada will open up for us as of Oct 1st. Dunno about getting back into the US though...haha! That opens up many more places to explore.

    Cheers!

Oh BTW, I may get in touch regarding the remote install.

I am hoping to take the motor home for a trip thru the PNW next summer to explore possible retirement location as a base. I can see getting into a 40 foot trawler to use to explore the waters up there. Pretty much abandoned the live on a 65 footer idea. If the wife is not comfortable crewing the 506, any bigger will be a non starter. Now the plan would be have a water front town house and a smaller boat.

I have seen some 36 to 41 Trawlers that are amazing. They are setup for long term comfortable living.

Just like @Gofirstclass and others who have moved on from boating, ill be hanging around CSR and keeping up with you.
I have found that there is a similar Camaraderie in a couple of RV forums so my focus will be split. I always appreciate the feedback offered by the membership on here no matter the subject.
    Cheers

Wilco Mike, I once drove to Pasco with my dad and we bought a Piper Pawnee to use as a glider tow plane. That was a long drive in 84 in a beat up Ford Courier mini pick up from Vacaville Ca!

Here is the new "yacht" Funny how we never thought of going this deep on a boat but after comparing carrying costs we managed to justify buying new and at the upper end of production coaches. We will get a lot more enjoyment out of this and it will be a hell of a lot less work to keep her in top shape since I have an empty 50 by 60 barn to house her in.
Flying to LA on Friday night and will drive her up the coast on Saturday.

At the Miami boat show a few years ago, we looked at the Bennetau Swift 47 trawler. It was an amazing use of space.

Absolutely beautiful. I hate driving (I drove dump trucks and F350s with backhoes and bobcats in tow in my youth)', so I'll never own one. But that is an amazing coach!

It's a beauty! Congratulations. If not too late, maybe ask the dealer if they have a place where you can stay overnight and spend some time fiddling with it if you haven't already decided to do this, you will have more questions or find things that need adjusting by the morning that they will be happy to answer/take care of. Most RV dealers have such a place with full hook ups. Have your wife take lots of notes during the PDI while things are explained to you. Know that not all dealers are great at going over everything BEFORE you show up to take delivery so you should make sure you check everything. Open every cabinet, every door, every window, operate every system and gadget. Some dealers may not be interested in doing repairs or "finishing builds" on a unit that they didn't sell so try to work those bugs out right up front as it sounds like the dealer may be far from you.
Join the Newmar Kountry Klub and after you settle in a bit, attend a rally. It's a great way to meet other Newmar owners, have fun and the learning experience is unmatched.
    Enjoy.

Great advice. I know we can't stay on his lot. He is picking us up at the airport the night before, putting us up in a complementary Marriot Hotel room a mile from his lot and personally doing the PDI with us. We need to get back up north so can't stay over. The coach will have 2000 miles on it since it came from Indiana so hopefully what ever was loose at the factory had time to show up. I have been very pleased with this dealer. We have another full service dealer 1 1/2 away if there are any serious warranty issues that come up on our 400 mile drive north. It would need to be soemthing pretty specialized though for me to be motivated to take it there. Looking forward to attending a Newmar rally and meeting other owners.
