I currently purchased 303 Vinyl cleaner to clean up my seats. That said, they were not bad at all, however the 303 cleaner did not do much to clean them. I have read where I can gently use a Magic Eraser and I am wondering if anyone has had any luck with that. Also, I am wondering if anyone recommends any other cleaning solution for this purpose, be it store bought or a home made solution.

Thanks in advance for any and all input and suggestions.

I have found that West Marine inflatable boat cleaner works really well followed by 303 protectant.
For tough stains a gentle application of acetone works but definitely will melt through the vinyl if you are not careful.

you will likely get many differing opinions on this....I would avoid using magic eraser...it works very well but is like fine sand paper and will remove some of the coating on the vinyl...if the seats are not in bad condition I recommend using Meguiar's 57 'Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner and Protectant'.....use a stiff bristle brush to work it into the stains....

Thanks Cliff, good tip on the Magic Eraser. I will take that off my shopping list.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

Spray 9 and the rough side of a scrubbing brush will get them looking new again. (Once I used acetone ..I don’t recommend that)

I have a boat that has some dried f/g resin on the seats any suggestion for that. I did it while redoing the floor and got my hands on the seat.

Don’t use a Magic Eraser. It’s abrasive and will wear down the grain or texture.
Cheapest and easiest way I found so far for getting vinyl seats spotless.
Get a gallon of “Totally Awesome Cleaner” for about ten bucks on Amazon.
Put the product in a spray bottle.
Use the scrub side of a scrub sponge you can get at Home Depot.
Do a section at a time, I use the cleaner full strength.
Rinse each section before the dirt dries on it again.
Vinyl will come out beautiful and no risk damaging it.
Follow with 303 Protectant.
I keep a spray bottle of the cleaner on the boat and anytime Imsee a dirt spot on the vinyl I spray it and wipe it clean with a clean cotton terry cloth rag.

Try any of the various cleaners above. Then when they won’t do the trick buy the marine strip on Etsy and send me a thank you email.

Just kidding but the marine 31 vinyl cleaner is my choice then marine strip for stubborn stuff. Always follow them with 303 protectant.

Marine Strip is great stuff but it’s very pricey, especially with the shipping. I tried it earlier this season and really liked it. But I did find that it makes the vinyl gummy for a bit, although that did resolve itself.
I also found that the “Totally Awesome Cleaner” used as I outlined above worked just as well on vinyl, did not make it gummy, and is a fraction of the price.

MarineStrip works great and does completely evaporate. The shipping can make it cost prohibitive though to send a single container because of weight and restrictions. (disclaimer: We are a dealer for the product now locally and as well as a heavy user).

Will this product take off fiberglass resin that has dried on the vinyl seat? not to concern with the price if it will work. I'm sure I can find it in the Las Vegas area.
