Best Wax I've Ever Used

So are you working for Starkey Mike?
Me?….god no…don’t know starkey. If there wasn’t competition we would all be using the worst product ever…. At this point in my opinion the leaders are all the same….some go on easier, some come off easier but in the end they last about 3 months and we buy more and all hop on the hamster wheel again next spring

Oddly enough, I noticed they were selling "Presta" pads but not their other products.

i’ve been very happy with how my products last the whole season. If yours are not lasting that long you might want to look into some of the others.

Think about that for a second…. Nothing lasts 6 months then gives up. I said the stuff lasts 3 months…then starts to degrade. For example…I had the boat pulled a couple years ago mid July and waxed it… it made a huge difference towards the end of the season. My opinion is this buy chemicals scam is a 3 month window…..why would they sell us a 24 month window

I forgot to wax my radar array, didn't realize it until after the hardtop was slick and shiny...ain't going back up there until I can get a little traction.:p

I just wish I knew what I was doing. Hull looks okay when I wax but above the rail not so much. Lots'o'swirls.

Maybe we have to learn how to pose our boats like MProd, my boat has some shine, really, just can't tell it by the pics I take

Did someone say shiny? One quick coat of Smoove after she was pulled from the barn....and this side of the boat is in direct sunlight all day.

It’s really irrelevant whatever you use for wax or sealant if the gelcoat under it isn’t buffed and polished to absolute perfection first.
Absolutely nothing you put on top of gel coat is going to make it more glossy, if it does it will only be for a very short time.

I’ve tried everything under the sun, the only product that has worked for me is Starke Hybrid Marine Sealant. Still beads up at the end of the season when the boat is pulled.

Then again, what do I know!

You can take a pic that makes anything look shiny.... and then there is hard core compounding. Wax just seals the shine

Ya' I compounded plenty, piles of gel coat on the floor when we were done. Ran into a problem at the start, I started compounding with a quart that was old, how old I'm not sure. It just didn't seem to work like it should. I finally cut the quart apart, looked inside and found the bottom caked up with what I assume were important abrasive ingredients that had settled out. Had to get a fresh quart rushed in, no place in town had any, cost me about 85 bucks for that quart but what a difference.

That is some expensive wax, but since it applies itself, it is worth every penny
Only once, when i bought it last May. The dealer split the cost. Unfortunately, waxing is not functional for me. We launch before it’s warm enough (upper 40s), and haul after it’s too cold (40s). Tried doing it in the dinghy in the water, that was like a monkey fkn a football.

Dammit! Can't believe that never occurred to me. Now I'm gonna have to climb up on the hard top to wax the radar array and the KVH HD7.

You guys are so 1999.

In our modern times:rolleyes: waxes and polishes regardless of brand are obsolete.

Those of us younger folk  “in the know” have learned the latest in technology for marine bright work.

It’s ceramics and/or PPT, for those of you fuddy duddies PPT is paint protection film.

The marine applications for wraps started a while ago but today it’s clear protective film.

It’s designed for marine, has ultra violet ray reflective properties up to 98% and reduces heat as well.

It offers abrasive resistance and lasts years.

The application stack is ceramic coating first then PPT. Some put ceramic coating after PPT but that will void your PPT warranty because can cause discoloration.

And that is the rest of the story. :)

You can blame Blueone for that, he set the new standard. I can't get good enough purchase up there with my cane:eek: so I guess I'll have to hire someone.
