Best Vinyl boat seat cleaner

Aurora Cleaner followed by several coats of Malco PB2. Makes the vinyl as smooth as a baby's butt, but not oily or slick. It's like a well worn saddle. The stuff is not cheap, but it is worth every penny.

Wow lots to take in here. I may have trouble sourcing alot of the product s mentioned here in ireland.

Thanks for the help

Most "all purpose" spray cleaners should work. Especially if you cut it down with water. Check the label and/or contact manufacturer to be sure.

I was curious and looked through my boat cleaning supplies last night - I use regular Spray 9 a lot and it works well for most things. Spray 9 also has a vinyl cleaner called "Once Over" that seems to work about the best of anything I have tried.

Earthbrite is the best thing I've ever used. It is simply amazing. Pete

Earthebrite didn't do much for my seats but works great on glass top stoves where the pan boils over and leaves stains.

here is what bleach does to vinyl

Sal, that doesn't appear to be damage caused from bleach. I've cleaned so many pieces of vinyl over the years that I couldn't even begin to count. While I've never used bleach full strength (never found the need), I also don't think it would hurt. But regardless, bleach won't cause that pinkish stain by itself. You either had another variable in the mix or what you're seeing is the "pink mold". It's not really "mold", though - it's some kind of off-gassing (or something like that) that the mold gives off and it happens from the inside out - it is not just on the surface.

Did the red stains pop up only after you used the bleach? And how long after?

Yes about 1 day after I tried to clean them after with a vinyl cleaner and then put them in direct sun for a few days it got a little better but still there .

OK, so there was definitely another variable here. The bleach will not react with vinyl like that, on it's own.

The mold must have farted when it choked on the bleach.

That's funny, but you know what? Maybe there's some truth to that and it caused the "pink" stuff to show up earlier than later? I dunno - I'm not an expert in microorganism gastrointestinal malnutritional disorders. :smt001
