I'm a newbie owner of a 1997 190 bow rider, and it came with a low-end Humminbird fish finder with transom-mount transducer. More often than not it flashes 3.8 feet regardless of the true depth, so I'm thinking of cleaning up the whole installation by putting a depth gauge in the factory dash location. I'd rather have a shoot-through transducer than the current transom mount. Any advice on whether an in-hull transducer works with this boat and if so, where's the best location?
Thanks,
jesse
