I am heading out to zacks bay this weekend from moriches. Im looking at my charts and im triing to figure out the best route. I was looking for some help since i see three diffent potental routes. I have a 240 sundancer and i no it could be pritty tricky around amityville. want to see if anyone has any suggestions or experance around that area. thanks ralph

Take the bay until you just past the robert moses bridge. You can get to the south channel via the Babylon cut or the Lindenhurst cut. Once you are in the south channel... head west (duh) all the way right into Zach's. its a nice ride!

Hey, if your in a hurry, you can take the Amityville cut, because once you head south to the State channel you have multiple 5mph zones. Enjoy...

I like the lindenhurst cut then head west, it's about 45 mins from there, as stated it's a nice ride !!

I heard a few people tell me to take the amityville cut to the state channel. I see on the chart there is cut though south oyster bay that runs through the wet lands that takes you just north of zacks bay, has anyone ever took that way, it looks like it is real narrow and can get realy shallow at some parts.

If you are new to the great south Bay, the best advice you got was to take the Babylon Cut south to the state channel and then head west till you hit Zachs. Of all the cuts west of the robert moses bridge, Babylon is the widest and deepest. As you head west, the cuts get narrower and shallower. In a 240, the Lindenhurst cut is an easy one too, but stay between the buoys! I would avoid amityville and any other cuts further west. Play it safe and make it a great trip!

Anyone use a Dingy at Zacks bay? We may want to go to shore. Normally you can wade in if your close enough. This year maybe hard to get close to the shore, everyone seams to be going. Possible Problems with leaving the dingy on the beach there? JG
