looking to buy two Danforth Standard Anchors S1300 (16lbs)...where is the best price? So far Overtons has been the cheapest at $191.00 out the door. I am using them as beach anchors as required from the yacht club we are joining.

Thanks!

Ski, if you've checked around and found Overtons to be the cheapest, go with them. Obviously you've done your homework so the odds of saving a few bucks here or there are slim. I've used Overtons for years for many different kinds of items and always found them to be a great company to do biz with.

Thanks! I figured but just wanted to see if there was something i was missing. thanks!

discountmarinesupplies.com I have had good luck with them on a number of items recently including a larger size of that anchor.

I've gotten several things from them and they're good.
I had some experience with a new Danforth anchor about 3 years ago. My old boat had a Danforth High Tensile 20H anchor that I loved. A friend was looking for a new anchor and based on my experience he ordered the same one. The quality was inferior even though it was the same exact model. He returned it and ordered another one from a different source and not only was it inferior too, but it was bent when he unpacked it. He returned that one and wound up finding a used 20H on Ebay that was the exact same quality as mine. My guess is that they either changed their manufacturing process or cut costs and use a different alloy in recent years.
