It would be good to get a meet up going. We had some good times in the past. We will be down that way The week of July 11th. I am not sure I can pull it off that week as we already have the week
Planned out but we interested in putting something together this summer.
Block is always a good place to get everyone together. Good anchorage and central to a lot of people.

Last summer, running back from Nantucket to Montauk, we hit Block and got fogged in.. Literally Pea Soup.. Couldn't see more than 50-60 yards in any direction (including up!). That's when I learned some guys coming out of Montauk don't have radar.... and evidently don't care.

    Edit:
And the fog didn't even begin to break til we hit the jetties coming in to Montauk

From Greenport, Mystic is a great place to visit. Its' about 30/45 minutes across the sound depending on your speed of course. Stay at Seaport Marine, it's 100 yards from town and there is also a great restaurant (Red 36) at the marina. Plenty of great restaurants, bar/pubs and shops. If you have a dingy the Mystic river is fun to explore going back to Mystic Seaport and the many marinas you can visit. Happy to provide more info if needed.

We chose to make reservations at Sag Harbor Village Marina mostly due to the cancellation policy. Waterfront marina has a 28 day cancellation policy while the Village marina is 3 days. We just won’t know how the weather looks that far out so who knows if we have to cancel or not a month out.
Does anyone have knowledge of the Sag Harbor Village marina? Is there anything to know about better slips there or anything of that nature?

I think this is the Marina that is in front of the park, next to where waterfront marina is. If so, my recollection is that most of the slips were about the same. Technically the slips closest to Waterfront Marina are closer to town, but in reality they are all close.

I forget which night it is but there is a concert in the park during the summer.

Good to know. Is it sort of like staying on the wall at OB? Thanks Scott.

Greenport town marina is Mitchell Park. The benefit is you are in the center of town, nice docks and it’s reasonably priced. The downside is boat wakes tend to roll in all day long on a weekend and the current sometimes can make docking a bit tricky.
Our home port is Greenport. Let me know if you need any local info.
BTW There are three other marinas in Greenport - Townsend Manor, Safe Harbor Stirling Harbor and Safe Harbor Yacht Yard. All three have a pool and other amenities.

Yes, but no where near as much foot traffic.

I think they also had short fingers between slips much like Nantucket Boat Basin, but not positive.

we have reservations @ Mitchell Park mid july. Is there a part of the marina I should request?
When I booked months ago, i was told i was the last slip they had for that weekend (for my size).

Good point -- last summer the weather didn't cooperate at all and we ended up cancelling the bookings we had on the Cape and the islands.

At Mitchell Park the best location would be on one of the “T” spots. There may only be 4-6 T spot’s depending on what size boats are on the T.

Sometimes they put the larger boats on the bulkhead which is on a fixed pier to the north. Bring fender boards or big fenders if you are on the bulkhead. The boat wakes tend to roll in. If in a bulkhead spot you are on display as people walk out on the pier to gaze at the water/boats. You may also hear music from the restaurant on the bulkhead.

The first floating dock on your port in from the bay is the other place they have the most space for the larger boats. There are two boats between two floating finger docks with no poles between boats. Try arriving at slack tide if you can, as the current can make this a bit tougher especially without a pole to lean on
