Best Harbor in Chicago

So I am going to take a trip to Chicago next weekend, any opinions on the best harbor for a mix of getting downtown easy, and good amenities?

Departing Michigan City, Indiana around 5:00 pm, if anyone wants to convoy.

Or would that be a flotilla?
