"Best Boat Show Comment" 2015 edition

Move over guy-last-summer who commented that 660 hours was too many on diesels (when that was the HP rating).

Yesterday the Scout Rep had just opened the lazarette of their incredible new 42. People were looking in and admiring the lighting and component installations, including a gyro stabilizer. The 2015 comment winner stumbled aboard, bumped into me to peer in and said, "look at that. when you have a problem with yer motors, just open this up and there there are." No-one suggested that he turn around and take another look at the FOUR Yamaha 350's bolted to the transom. I think we were all too busy trying to figure out what he thought he saw.

Last year, going along to view a used boat with a friend who is a neophyte boater, and TRYING to explain the repair and maintenance budgeting concept as we were standing behind the "used" boat with twin Volvo outdrives, he says; well it all looks pretty straight forward from here, what could possibly go wrong that would cost so much?" He didn't buy it,,,, and still hasn't bought one.

Two years ago dock neighbors sent a couple over to tour our boat. He asked if he could open the transom trunk only to to find lines and power cords. The dick that I am. I told him it was electric. He nodded with a smile. They walk among us.

That Scout was beautiful..... Did you happen to get the price? They are the sharpest looking center consoles IMO.......

The sticker was around $980,000. I guess no-one claims that beauty comes cheap!
