Best 19" LED TV to get?

Went with a jensen HD, it's 12v/120, i mounted it on radar arch with a mount that allows it to fold up out of way and it's a "marine verson". had it 2 years now and no problems

82-680-016-01.jpghere's one i just found by googling "fold down tv mount", i can't rember which supplier i got mine from, but the selection out there now better.

DG,
Do you run the boat with the TV flipped up? If so, how well does it stay up and do you hit your head on it? I like that style mount you use.

Didn't get it I see......

Linked threads pretty much covered the questions you had in this thread.

I'm looking for a white LED 12v, still not finding that anywhere. As of now I'm holding onto the white Insignia 120v and gonna use an inverter(still would like to find a 12v eventually though).

Are you going to wire the inverter directly to the batteries?

Another angle on this is to search for an LED monitor and not a TV. Then pump the TV signal through an external tuner remotely mounted. Here's a sleak and super thin 12v Monitor that has a white chassis.

I posted this link: http://www.compusa.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6818977&csid=ITD&body=QA# back on the 1st page (post #9). It's a monitor. But it's a white thin LED for only $169 with good reviews. Has VGA And DVI connections and 28W power consumption.

yea we run with it up, no problem. When flipped up it's out of the way, passengers in back of the helm have been known to catch a football game while seated at the cockpit table. i have pictures with it up but file size blocked up loading. if you want i can send direct to you my email davidgvicto@sbcglobal.net

Ive been considering this route as well. I don't need a tuner - but I want a monitor with hdmi input that's going to be able to pull audio out of the hdmi source and has built in speakers. Havent found the right mix yet. I would have def gone with this: http://www.amazon.com/AOC-E2351F-LED-Monitor-Black/dp/B0071CVTO6 23", 12v power brick - great reviews and $129. but dvi input and no external speaker setup - I just dont want to engineer a whole surround sound setup so my kids can watch fresh beat band.

That model e2351f has a new model, e2351fh, which adds HDMI support. You can also get speakers that plug into the audio out of the monitor and are form fitted to the monitor so they will "look" like they are built into the monitor. AKA "Soundbars". http://www.google.com/products/cata...=X&ei=UzCPT_rjL8GJ6AH_773-Dg&ved=0CJ8BEPMCMAU#

I'm days away from purchasing a new TV. I like the cost of a monitor, but I want HDMI also. This latest link looks good, with the sound bar. But I was considering using the "extra" audio output to plug into the aux in of the boats stereo for family movie time...no big deal though.

Mainly I'll be using my phone (has hdmi output) or another portable device to play videos. No OTA stations around here to need a tuner !

Hrmm. Just found this: different model 23" aoc (i2353Ph), sweet looking brushed silver bezel, Ultra thin (9mm!) IPS panel technology (should have better viewing angle than the cheaper TN panels), 2 hdmi inputs, and built-in speakers, that *supposedly* will play audio passed via the hdmi input. (probably as long as it is decoded into uncompressed pcm) and 12V power brick!

http://us.aoc.com/support/documents/pdf/documents/400

going rate seems to be about $190.

I need to verify the hdmi audio part w/ the built in speakers but I may go with this for my in-cabin display.

Edit: Only thing that may be an issue is because it is SO thin, the base is not really removable, (connections go into the rear of the base) - for wall mounts the base folds up behind the monitor but it still sticks out the bottom some, plus I'm not sure how flimsy it all is. Hmmm...
