Besides boats, what do you collect?

I just inherited my dad's coin collections. Must be over 500 silver, uncirculated coins. Very heavy! No idea what they're worth, though. I also collect cars.

I collect frequent flyer miles. I live in NY and work in CA. Sunday night JFK to LAX Thursday night red eye LAX to JFK....mucho miles.
bmac, If a company wanted me to do that kind of routine they'd have to pay me a TON of money. I used to really enjoy flying. Now, not so much.

New stuff or old? Anything you might be looking for?
Mostly new stuff when I find a deal or sale. I've stumbled across some older surplus cans full a couple of times.

What I look for is:
.45 ACP
9mm
5.56 NATO
7.62x39
and .22 LR

Knives. Last count I had 81. I favor mostly fixed blade, daggers, and hunting knives. But I have a mix of other folding knives. The prize gems. A Marbles Ideal knife from the 50's that was a gift from a neighbor who was a detective. He gave it to me when i was 16. Someone tried to stick him with it. They lost to a 38. He also gave me a Western skinning knife that turns out is the oldest one I have.Made circa 1936-40. In my collection also a USN K-Bar from WWII. On the folder side a half dozen GI issue electricians knives, mostly from my time in the Coast Guard. 8 daggers of various sizes and brands. Mostly United cutlery, but the gem is a Gil Hibben Silver Shadow boot dagger from the 70's authenticated by the manufacturer.

Don't know what I'll do with them. Pass them on to my son and son-in-law i imagine.

I collect old books - the older the better. I also, for my Son - collect paper money and coins from the wide variety of countries I travel to. Have something from everywhere in Europe - including both east and west, most of the ME, about 1/2 of Africa, 1/2 of S American and N America.

M1 Garands

Have one from each of the four manufacturers: SA, WIN, H&R, IH, plus a second Springfield that was completely refinished/rebarrelled that is my shooter.

Well, some guns over the years but not a lot. I'm collecting knives now. Nothing specific, but Im partial to Case, and I prefer traditional pocketknives over today's tactical clip-on stuff. I have 47 now, including folders and sheath knives. I recently bought a couple of Old Hickory butcher knives, and have to make some sheaths.

I also started collecting Revereware 1801, copper bottom cookware. I have frypans, pots, stockpots, coffeepots, even measuring cups. Most of it is hanging up; I have a few on the boat. But I use it, outside of some cast iron and Corning Ware, its the only cookware I own.

I enjoy garden tractors but they take up a lot of space. I have a 69 Bolens 1220 repowered with a 16 horse, and two Ford LGT hydro open sided, a 74 and maybe 73. I really wanted a front end loader for one of the Fords but I gave up and got a Cub compact tractor with a loader and 3 point. It is a lot more fun.

Had a buddy who seemed to collect ex-wives. He said they all had the same first name......
Plaintiff. After the 4th, we told him, "Maybe it's you". ;)

LOL....I collect ex-Girlfriends. It's a lot cheaper to get away from them. I will never get married again.

Also a motorcycle guy. Have 4. 3 KTM's 1190, 690 & 500 and a 1971 CB750/4

That number could easily go up if the right bike presented itself though.

I collect guns, guitars and grandchildren. Most of the handguns are Springfields. The long guns are random. Most of the guitars are Schecters (9) with a couple beautiful Gretsch's and some randoms. Grandbabies are 10 or almost. 9 of them are ages from 10-1 and one due in June.

Talking motorcycles, I thought some bike porn might be entertaining for you all. This is my brother's creation. Not mine.

I had a CX500 Turbo! The bike didn't look like that from factory. That is very neat. I picked up on the transverse V right away. I had to replace the stator in that damn thing twice. I honestly don't miss that job at all.
