Am in the process of installing an ATC System in my boat (Searay Amberjack 270) My question is this, the instructions state to mount the Control Unit parallel to the center line of the boat. Does it have to be on the center line, or can the unit be mounted approximately three foot to the starboard side of the center line, as long as it is parallel?

Thank you for any information,

Bill

I just replaced mine but reused the mounting brackets - which are on the centerline. I found that their customer service was top notch - you might drop them an email and see what they think.

It just has to be parallel to the center-line. Three feet off to one side is fine.

My buddy just had an ATC installed on his 22 Grady. He said it was like driving a whole new boat.

Tom, now that he has the ATC, is his auto-retractor doing anything, or is that function taken over by the ATC?

The ATC does not have a built in Auto Tab Retractor, so having the separate one is still a good idea :)

It is a complete different boat with ATC< happy as a lark.

Hello all,

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for responding to my question. Have a great day.

Bill, I've got a 270 Amberjack as well and have been contemplating installing the ATC. After you've had a chance to test it out, can you report back on what you think?
Thanks,
Mike

Guys, I've installed Bennett's ATC on my last three boats and found it to be one of those options that I use virtually every time I head out on the boat. It simply makes boating easier. Just get the boat up on plane using the manual tabs, then as you come up on plane turn on the ATC and the boat will right itself to your favourite attitude automatically. No more fooling around with tabs.

The other thing to consider is Bennett's customer service - it's second to none! (especially with Tabman right here on CSR to assist)!
