Hey Folks,
I am a beginning power boater and I just bought a 1994 270DA which was well maintained and is a beautiful boat. I took it on a sea trial and had a survey accomplished and it confirmed that the boat was well taken care of. I have spent the last two weeks winterizing the engine and changing oil, etc. The dealer winterized the fresh and black water system on the boat.
Anyway, I have 8 year experience sailing hobie cats, which is about the limit of my boating experience. One thing I have found right off, is that these boats are like floating RV's and they have lots of systems to care for. Not quite like splashining my Hobie 18 and going sailing. But, the family is excited for next spring to come and we will all go boating as a family activity.

See you around the forum!

Congratulations!

My father-in-law has a hobie cat amongst his armada. I had a lot of fun with him. I did not know a sailboat could pass a motor boat before he showed me. Unfortunately he is now getting up in years and his performance days are behind him and I never developed the skill to make that thing perform like he could.

Welcome aboard. Remember to update your signature section.
Now about that sailing thing, tread lightly you need to check out the Volvo Ocean Race thread. (Grin)

Welcome from another mid-90's 270 DA owner. They're good boats, but your Hobie's tramp does have a bit more room to stretch out...

Just Right,
We have very similar boats. Does the back seat fold up (the one against the transom by the table)?

Thanks!

Great Boat to start with. Good Luck with the boat.

The Fun Has Just Begun!

Welcome. I just bought a 94 270 DA in september. Haven't had it in the water yet. Have a few things to do before next summer. From what I've read and heard on here its a good boat. Good Luck.
