Just a reminder to the members, be nice to those of us that work outside during this period of hot temps. Be sure to offer your FedEx and UPS and Mail folks something cold. Offer them water, ice tea, Gatoraide. Anything cold will do.

Today we we filled our cooler and found every person cutting grass in the retirement complex to hand out water and Gatoraide. Later I found two cases of water on the tailgate of my truck. It's already on ice and we will continue our seek and hydrate tomorrow.

i need a bigger cooler! 

Be safe, all of you in this crazy heat

You know, I was thinking about this a few moments ago when UPS delivered our wine cooler. The he proceeded to use my dolly to put it in my patio area. And stood the dolly straight up with the cooler in it, flipping the cooler in its side. After that j wanted to splash him with hot water.

On a side not. I do agree, to look out for for the people working outside. I do construction and it's blazing out there (although I took this week of to bond with the new baby) and it's supposed to reach 100+ in the bay area

It's 6:25 here now. The truck says its 114. We had planned to go back after the sun started going down. I don't see it happening. Temps on the side of the buildings were 135 in some spots. At 6am building temps were already 100.

Enjoy that baby!!!

Any normal seasoned outdoor worker knows exactly what he's up against when he leaves his house in the morning. He brings everything with him to do a days work.

I've been a roofing contactor for 48 years. Yup hot in the summer and cold in the winter

+1000 to the OP. Prior to moving, I left a swim platform size cooler full of iced down water, Gatorade and ice packs/towels next to the mail box post. Never an issue with theft or vandalism. Likewise, in the winter, I left thermoses of coffee and hot chocolate with the note, "Please take the thermos and return it next week. I have many." Again, never one theft nor vandalism.

Not bragging. Just remembering working in extreme conditions and trying to pay it back.
