There have been a couple recent theft incidents at our marina, I'm debating (a) which gas BBQ option is the best bang for our buck, (b) where should I mount it?

Ideas I'm debating
:
- BBQ: the square kind seem a bit more ideal than the circular kind. Any other opinions on usability? Brand recommendation?

- Mounting: I like the idea of using the fishing pole hole mount, but then you have to hassle with storing the BBQ when not in use. The hand rail on the back transom seems like a good spot, but would require BBQ'ing while standing on the back step. I was thinking of fastening using torx bit screws or some other head that isn't too common. Drilling new holes into the hull for the BBQ doesn't seem ideal either...plus it would make it hard to jump out of the boat when docking.

Any good pics out there of favorite BBQ mounting configurations?

Good questions. You might be surprised at what's already on this forum in regards to your concerns. Try this: Click on the search button (under the big boat) and then enter "magma" as the search criteria. Be sure to click the "titles only" option.

I do have an extended swim platform in the back. I love the idea of putting a pedestal in the lift-up lid area where the swim ladder is hidden. Brilliant!

Thanks guys!

Another easy option (though I think Todd should patent his mount!). I store it below when not in use.

I attached my magma to the external side of the boat port side rear.....when the boat is not in use it is stored.....Have a problem with open flames inside a boat....lol.....
