I have had high tire wear in the inside of the tires and asked Venture to investigate. After 6 months of pictures and back and forth they have decided that all three axles need to be replaced due to bad camber.

The last photo the camber looks terrible. I don't think its that bad at least I have not seen this before.

The trailer is two years old and has about 3000mi on it. I bought it new. Venture does not have a trailer distributor in Phoenix so they want me to take the trailer to a local shop and have them replace three axles. Unfortunately Venture needs to ship the parts from Baltimore and will only pay wholesale labor rate which comes to $390.

Does anyone know of a trailer shop in the Phoenix area that will do this work?

I will haul the boat from Lake Powell to Phoenix next weekend. I'm worried about hauling with the trailer in this condition. Especially through the Navajo Nation Reservation. I have 300 miles this in front of me.

The only company that I know that deals with boat trailers in PHX is Randall's VIP trailers. Personally, I would not have purchased and aluminium trailer. I'm sure if you call them, they should be able to provide you some guidence in the valley.

Thanks I'll give them a shout this morning, whats wrong with aluminum?

Yes Gary I will be at Mexican Hat before you know it.

Here are some pics of the drive into powell in May, 50 mph cross winds from Flagstaff to Powell. Ugh...

I hate making this drive by myself. I'm old, the trucks old and I hauling an old boat. One mistake and I'm toast.

I driven across the reservation many times going to Lake Powell and going to Telluride, CO, just don't stop to help anyone, carry a gun, and carry no cash:grin:

I wouldn't do aluminum because everyone I have known that has had one, had warped frames, and cracked welds. When it comes to a heavier boat, galvanized steel C and I beams will hold up the best.

don;was going to offer our trailer if your boat would fit it. would have to be 21* dead rise to start with.
its in dry storage there at BF.

GERRY reminded me of two problem though. havent taged it yet, as we brought it from mead on the temp. and the second problem is the trailer is just over 10' wide and needs a over width permit by its self.:thumbsup:

Thanks Gary, Blew and Scott. I purchased new tires last night. I will call Bull Frog Maintenance see if I can get them mounted on Monday. The only problem with leaving the boat is the time envolved. It would take an additional trip, another 3 days. I think with new tires it will be ok into Phx. Still don't like the drive. Man this is one remote part of planet.

I live in tempe myself.

Eh, there are only two bad parts to the drive, just coming out of Page and Camp Verde, south of FLagstaff. Other than that, its pretty smooth sailing. Get better mileage coming home to rather than going.

Camp verde is scary as he!! though with the boat behind ya, and its raining.

And while yes, Lake Powell may be one of the most desolate places, it is by far one of the most scenic and incredible. Glad someone decided to put a dam up there. :smt001
