Battery question if I get 2.5 hours with group 27 on the hook with three ref and stereo on what could I exPect with group 31 battery's
Any helP would be appreciated

What is the rated Ah of the battery you have and what is the rated Ah of the battery you plan to buy? Without detailed discharge curve data for each you can assume the two derate similarly for the load you draw.

The group # doesn't indicate capacity, just the form factor.

Thank you the ah is currently 140 I'm looking at 200 ah I figure I'm drawing 15 amps average draw I'm just trying to figure if the investment is worth it
Thank you for your help

Main - something doesn't sound right with how long your battery is lasting. Either it's on it's last legs, dirty/loose connections or it's not getting fully charged?

This comparison isn't exactly apples to apples, but... I have one Group27 (200ah). Granted I only have one fridge, but I've gone 3 days with VERY minimal engine use (yet, the fridge was running the whole time, radio on here and there, cabin/cockpit/anchor light, etc) and was always able to start the engine. I do have another battery, but I purposefully experimented with just that G27 to see what happens.

However, uping your aH will certainly not hurt and going from 140 to 200 is a good jump.

Thank you I'm gonna have my mechanic due a load test on my batteries and see bow bad they are before I drop a grand or more I'll have him check charger and alternators I'll keep you posted again thank you lazy

They will probably do this, but be sure the fluid level is checked (even most "maintenance free" batteries should be checked occasionally) and it is fully charged before being tested.

If you can pop the covers - look at the plates. If you see any sulphation (whitish substance), it may or may not be salvageable - depends on the degree of sulphate build up and what type of charger is used.

Good luck.
