battery/oil tank mounting

i have a 180br with the 135 merc and am wanting to relocate the oil and battery...right now they are in separate compartments under the back seat...is there any reason i can't put them in the same compartment to free up some usable space?

The reason Sea Ray put them where they are was simply to try and balance weight. But, sure, you can move them - no problem. By "oil tank" I assume you mean the trim pump?

no i mean a 2+ gallon tank for the 2-stroke oil...i just didn't know if there was a safety issue...

Oh, I see. I wouldn't butt the two things tight up against each other, but that's good advice for any components (air circulation and easy access). Same answer though - no problem.
