240 Sundeck -- Should we run the boat on BOTH batteries all the time or just one? The boat is starting, but we have lost power to our stereo and console app's (bilge blower etc.) -- is it wired to one or the other battery?

They are wired to battery 2. My suggestion is start the boat on battery one. Flip to both and let the alt charge up the batteries. Then only use battery 2 when anchored etc. Keep battery 1 isolated as the starting battery. U do not wanna be stranded

I would check the manual before you switch batteries while running.

There is a warning sticker near the battery selector that tells when you should/shouldn't switch batteries.

I have the selector on Both while underway and switch to #2 while anchored. I reserve #1 for starting.

It most cases, switching batteries while running is OK...at long as you don't switch to OFF in the process. On my standard battery switch, I can go from 3'oclock position battery TWO towards 6'oclock BOTH, continuing to 9'oclock ONE. But never go over the top to OFF to get from one to the other. That could damage your alternator if it is in motion (engine running).
