Batteries

Has anyone considered changing the main engine batteries ( there are 2 for each engine) and replacing them with a single 8 D battery for each engine? If so, is there anything that I should be aware of.

I was looking at the CC of 1300 and 240AH of service and it seems doable.

I have looked into it. The 8d have a lot more amp/hr capacity. The 8d batteries are heavy ( around 165 lbs) and you would have to consider space. Image trying to replace one 8d battery by yourself into the bottom of your boat.
