BassAckwards Party at Bassett's Island CANCELLED!

Damn local townies always spoil fun. Taxachussetts has become the "no fun allowed state", which given it's liberal political position you'd think is a catch 22. So if you read between the lines in the last paragraph they are saying, "party is on, just not with our name on it."
 
Yeah that's what I plan on doing... It will be the unofficial bassackwards party.

thats all it means, just no kingmans name attached to it. i will still be there. have been for the past how many years... and to prove it im in that pic from the article!!!
 
I was just there talking to the yard Foreman(woman) and basically it is as Masilobes said, still on, just no Kingman name on it. It will still be a $hit show for sure! Wet, how does one go about planning a rendevoux? It is a great spot for one. I will be there either way.
 
Obviously I am not the man as I had one other boat show up on Block Island...I have retired from event planning
 
Be careful here, when you plan a get together,folks on this site seem to think we're all alcoholics and going to " float a gigantic raft up " directly into someone elses $ 100.000 + boat as if we have nothing to loose. I happen to love rafting up with other members and Sea Ray owners ( 6) in total dont even subscribe to this forum, 3 of which i work directly with day in and day out and are responsible for each others lives and family , so someone might tell you as a grown adult, you cant enjoy your selves and still be responsible.be ware fellas!!! And enjoy yourselves!!!
 
Frozen, not really sure what you are trying to say. If you wouldn't mind clarifying. Since this area is my "homeport", I actually am going to Bassets today, I would be happy to start a thread and do what I can do get something going with this. It is over a month away. I am NOT willing to be the "organizer" but would be happy to get some friends together to hang out for a weekend. I actually think it would be a great time. Do we need a flag???
 
I'm just saying seems, when you talk about gathering more than one boat some members seem to think its a drunk fest,! Or amateur night, I'm just venting, about a comment made when i mentioned Aquapalooza was back in our neck of the woods. I wish all a safe and fun filled time with your family and your boat .
 
bassakwards is a booze fest!!!just like aquapalooza. but in all my years, i havent seen anything but people having a good time, yes drinking, but also looking out for everyones boat so there are no mishaps. i would be more worried about the guy who puts his boat in twice a year crashing into me, but hes not on a forum like this. and besides, the only mishap ive ever had was one of my best friends who boats with us every weekend. all i heard was "comin in hot!!!" and smack. no damage just some scuffs. if your that worried about your boat dont go.
