Can anyone recommend a good marine engine mechanic near Pasadena/Baltimore MD? I had a survey done on a 92 sea ray 400 express cruiser and based on the following issues I'm planning to get a leak down test and coolant analysis at the recommendation of Frank Webster.
I had white smoke/steam coming out starboard exhaust starting around 1500 rpm, maybe 2-3' worth. Then at wot a lot came out both sides. The boat had no problems getting to 4300 rpm at wot and the engine temps were good. The other issues that may go along with this smoke/steam:
1-the expansion tank was overflowing because of the increased pressure in the coolant system of the starboard engine prior to reaching normal operating temperature. The overflow subsided and tank level wrnt back to a normal level when the block, cylinder head and gasket normalized (expanded and sealed).
2-There was a small hot spot ( 2" x 3") on the top of exhaust hose downstream of the riser (starboard) in a localized area not consistant with normal findings.
