I was channel surfing last night and came across a show on MOJO, one of the cable HD channels, call "KennyG, adventure capitalist." From what I gather, the main character is Kenny who is an outgoing, very successful venture capitalist with an office in Florida. To make the story short and get to my point, one segment has Kenny and friends out on his business manager's new boat which appears to be a 40-some-foot Sundancer. As they are coming back to port, the camera cuts to a scene of the owner and a crew member looking at a helm instrument display. Kenny then informs the audience that Mario's new boat has sprung an oil leak! The next shot is of crew looking down the hatch at the engines. How they make it back to port and any follow-up is never shown as the plot moves on to other things. And in one scene you can clearly see the Sea Ray logo on the seat back.

Not a very good promotion for Sea Ray!!!!!

Plus, if it was engine trouble, Sea Ray didn't build it, they just installed it in their boat.

Amen.... RiverRat it seems that many are unable to understand this (or choose not to) :)

SeaRay will send their personnel (not dealership employees) to deal with Merc problems... which speaks volumes about their commitment to customer service. At the end of the day we cannot blame SeaRay for Merc's shortfalls.

Well all I can say is that all the people at Newport Boats here in Socal that have worked on my SeaRay boats have been first class and always respond to my insane questions. Just my 2$

Hey Guys As you see I'm not a newbie to SeaRay or Boating I feel SeaRay can do a better job at QC. First let me say dollar for dollar SeaRay is the best deal on the water.

I have had first had knowledge to help with their QC problems in Manufacturing, they just do not want to change their ways and this is why we see many QC problems.

My 2 cents..

John

Are we talking about boats or the Democratic Primary? :smt021

Wait a second, there boys. Sea Ray might not have built the engines, but they selected them. I don't remember getting a choice between Mercruiser or Crusader when I bought Just Ducky and I didn't see Caterpillar, or IPS on the option list for the new 44DA.

If they don't offer the buyer a choice, then they should sink or swim with the decisions that they made.

Best regards,
Frank C

I am also a fan of SeaRay, mine is older and before Brunswick but after reading David Pascoe Marine Survey report on newer models I would be cautious with annual inspections.

Oops!

A correction to my post. The show was on again last night and the guys name was Bobby G, not Kenny G (guess I was hearing clarinet music when I wrote it). And the engines were diesels.
