Hello, I have 50 gallons of gas that is two years old, my tank holds 65 gallons, I did not add any treatment/stabilizor to gas. My boat does set on an air dock and the gas does get swished around with the movement of the water(wakes). Any chance of saving this gas?
If I need to get rid of it, how do I syphon gas out of tank?
Just putting a hose through filler doesn't seem to work.

Thanks
Sorry

I have used untreated gas that was over a year old. It worked fine. Problem I had was the engines stop due to water in the filters. Changed filters, after that and all was fine. It took about half an hour for the engines to stop the first time due to water in the filters. After that I kept changing the filters untill I had no water in them. It took a few changes before there was no water in the filters, but the engines never stopped working.

2 years old? Personally, I wouldn't risk it. Pull it out through the pick-up. Either at the tank or before the filter.

Got a load of water once...bought an inexpensive electric fuel pump and some hose from NAPA.I weighted the suction hose so it would go to the bottom of the tank.My boat had an extra fitting in the tank that was plugged,I removed the plug and went in there. Good Luck!

Thanks, I am thinking I don't want to chance it, just write it up as a lesson learned. I tried to stick a plastic hose through the gas filler yesterday and felt something blocking it, is there some sort of anti-siphon deivice that I need to be aware of?

Gordo,

Just use the pick-up hose. It's the one that goes to your filter. Why make more work for yourself?

If you go through the pickup hose you might want to remove the anti-siphon valve. It's the barbed fitting that screws into the tank on one end and is barbed on the other and attaches to your fuel line on the other end.You can't siphon through it, although you can pump out of it. you can replace it temporarally with
a regular barbed fitting and then siphon. I ran my old gas through my old 86 pickup 5 gallons at a time mixed with a full tank of fresh. It didn't hurt the truck. I burned up 60 gallons that way.
