Pulled my pump to replace the impeller and pulled the whole pump. When winterizing I found that there is no drain plug at the back of the housing like I have seen on some. Is there a housing that I can replace this with that does have one? My seawater pump number is

Need to learn the correct technique, plug isn't needed
I'm not very agile and it's a tight fit...lol. I pulled the pump off completely so I could do it over winter while the boat is in storage. There is a 'chip' in the hose connector where a small piece is broken off. Don't think it will affect anything but figured if I could find a housing with the drain plug then I might as well go ahead and replace it with that. Otherwise I'll leave the chipped one on.

Next question....I was planning to replace my blue drain plugs. Heard they can get brittle and break so I'd rather stay ahead of that. I'm normally a stickler for OEM parts but have only found Sierra or Hardin drain plugs. Any issues with the Sierras? Going to get an order in tonight for my seawater pump kit and my drain plugs.

This surgery is throwing a monkey wrench in my whole spring...lol

So ordered the Quicksilver impeller kit with new housing. There was a larger o-ring in the back of the housing that was already in place then a bag with bolts/washers and another o-ring about the size of a quarter. Took my old pump apart and didn't see any such o-ring and no instructions in the kit. I assembled the pump with that o-ring between the metal base piece and the SS plate. Looks like a bearing seal in that metal base and I put the o-ring on top of that seal. Sound right? Like I said, the old one didn't have that o-ring in there anywhere so want to make sure it's correct.

yeah debated on whether or not to put it in there. watched a video and their old o-ring was stuck to the SS plate but it had been between that plate and the metal body where the bearing and seal are.
