We have an Aztrax Marine-Sat Satellite system available (excellent
condition). We used it while on the loop mostly from inside the fly
bridge (yes it worked great even shooting through canvas and isinglass.
We found this more convenient than the Follow-me TV alternative because
of its smaller size and flexible mounting (optional rod holder mount
comes with our unit) and more economical than KVH. Aztrax worked throughout the loop, in Canada and the Bahamas while at dock or at anchor. We are also including the DirecTV DVR we used.

You can check out the specifics at www.mssat.com or www.geosatsolutions.com

Will gladly email pictures and details for both. xplorer@cahillenterprises.net

Sure will. You run the coax(s) from the Aztrax to the DirecTV box just like you would from a regular DirecTV dish antenna. You can use a regular DirecTV box or a DirecTV DVR. I'm pretty sure you can download the installation instructions from either of the web sites in my original message and see how it hooks up.

What type of power does it require, if any.

The Aztrax uses 12VDC power to track the satellite at dock or on anchor. The DVR uses 120VAC power -- we would run it on an inverter while at anchor when the generator wasn't running and it was fine. However, running time will depend on your battery bank when using the inverter.

Following is more detailed information.

The Aztrax system is a portable yet affordable way to watch satellite television at anchor. It uses an ultra small 16-inch dish that is lightweight and portable. Sets up in minutes using a suction cup mounting system or optional rail and rod holder mounts (a rod holder mount is included). It uses Azimuth Tracking for reliability and an easy-to-use remote control. It will track any direct broadcast satellite - DirecTV or Dish provided you have their converter box or DVR and service subscription.

How It Works:
The Marine-Sat AzTrax system tracks boat heading deviation, continuously redirecting the heading of your Marine-Sat antenna and keeping it pointed at the appropriate sky location for optimal reception. As your boat’s heading changes due to the influences of wind and current, the antenna position is automatically adjusted to compensate. Under most conditions, this all happens without any degradation in signal quality. In more extreme conditions, occasional dropouts may occur, but the system will automatically recover and restore the signal. Tracking system control is accomplished using either the provided IR remote control, or by programming your deluxe DBS receiver remote. In either case, it is possible to adjust the desired heading, as well as system operational parameters, without having to leave your chair.

What's Included:
Motorized Antenna Base with suction mount, System controller with status display, IR Remote Control, Thirty feet of Control/Power Cable, Lighter socket power cable, Twenty-four feet RG-6 Coax Cable, LNB Feed Arm, 16" Dish and Single Feed LNB, Rod Holder Mount and instruction manual. I am also including a Winegard Satellite Finder (model SF1000) and a hand-held compass that were helpful in finding the satellite during the initial set-up.
