I meant j1939. How would an analog converter pull data off of a two wire interface?

It doesn't, it converts the gauge data (voltage or sender resistance) like oil pres and engine temp to N2K PGN's, but only engine data. You will still need something like the ACM100 to convert the Voltage/Amps and Hz to N2K as well.

I’m going to get the data off that interface if I have to pull it off with my own converter :)

Good luck with that. I've done that and it isn't worth all the trouble. But if you meant that, get a Pie and and the N2K interface board. Use an old laptop and get a serial dump to figure out how to identify and convert over to PGN data. But food for thought, that interface may not have any usable data on it. If your generator doesn't have any digital readout's on it, other then error codes, then it most likely doesn't have any engine/AC data on that bus. Your assuming there is usable data on that bus, call Kolher and speak with a knowledgeable tech to confirm whats what.

EDIT: On PG 73 of the manual there is a connector P5 that has RS232 data on it. PG 74 has the signals to from the senders on it.

My old vesselview had generator data on it. So I know something is there.

I saw that thread and read through it a bunch of times. My 2010 came with the Vesselview 1.5 with the Kohler data already communicating with it. The discussion in that thread is about figuring out how to make that connection work on the slightly older boats, which is different than what’s going on here. This is about how to integrate the newer vv products, which seem to have abandoned the smartcraft generator data stream in favor of looking for generator data on the n2k network. At least that’s what I’m understanding. FWIW, I think the thread you linked actually started out with this same issue, but transitioned over to integrating with the vv1.5, with the Original poster disappearing from the thread. It’s all very confusing because of the different iterations and combinations from that time period.

I think the underlying issue is that this generation of Kohler was sending data across the smartcraft network using the smartcraft protocol. It looks like you can switch the generator to output J1939, but then you lose remote control functionality from the cabin control panel. Should be able to regain that by switching over to J1939 controls, but that’s challenging since you might also need to run a new harness.

The yachtdevice or the maretron converters might be able to convert the generator data anyway. I will order one of these to test this approach. Seems like the simplest first step. I’m just trying to figure out all of my options before I open the checkbook.

Got it done!

Simrad is displaying genset at bottom of left bar. I haven’t run genset yet to see if it’s working or not. I did install a vessel view link and everything else is working, So I have hi hopes.

Huge thanks to Tecnograghic ( Sam ). Fantastic job! Simrad screens and Fusion remote flush mounted.

I installed a merc vessel view link multi engine. It converts Smart craft to N2K but I had Kohler info displaying on my VV before.

Before & After pics. You can see in after pic I moved the STB EIM switch pad up slightly to match PORT side.

I just upgraded to a simrad NSS12 Evo3 and upgraded to the VV 502 to get mine to work. No luck yet , but I’m not giving up. I have a 2010 330. There has to be a way. So far the Simrad sees that there is an autopilot because when I am tracking it says autopilot in use on the screen. When I go to the autopilot screen is says no autopilot computer.

I figured it out!! I was trying to get the simrad to control the autopilot. The only thing it it going to do is provide the direction for the axius to track. So you have to build a route on the chart, then start moving in that direction, then press the Track Waypoint button.
