I have an 06 340 Sea Ray, has anyone wired an auxillay switch to lift the engine hatch, if so can you describe how itvwas done.

It's a simple 12V accessory - sure you can do that. You can tap in on the lift sides of your EIM and still retain function of the lift interupt switch or you can go direct to the lifts. Best thing to do - and this explains it best - is to look in your owner's manual at the wiring diagrams. Sea Ray has very good wiring diagrams and all of their wires in the harness are labelled and correlate to the diagrams.

If you don't have your original that came with the boat, you can download it on SR's site.

I had all the parts together -- but never got around to it. My plan was to wire it direct to the hatch so it was separate from the EIM. Also, it would have gone on the port side right where you climb in/out of the bilge. Often times I'd be right there and want the hatch to be higher or lower, and that meant climbing out and going up to the helm. That would be convenient .... similar to having a trim switch on the cowling of your outboard.
