Is the Raymarine Auto Pilot connected to the Raymarine Radar/chartplotter or to the Sea Ray Navigator? I use my charts on the Raymarine chartplotter . My auto pilot comes on and looks like it operates but it will not track a course or go to a way point. Any suggestion?

IMO have to be connected to Raymarine mfd.
You didn't mention what model or type raymarine you have but it's possible.

I have C80 display with radar/gps and ST6002 controller/screen.
To follow a track, press page and select chartplotter screen then press to wtps/mob then press goto waypoint options the table/list of waypoint appears. Select desired waypoint and press "go to" then press the "track" button on the autopilot screen and then press second time to "track" button on the autopilot screen finally autopilot follows the waypoint created in the radar/gps screen.

To keep a tight course you should do the settings of autopilot.

Detailed and better explanation is in the C-series operating manual in the chapter 4 using the chart sub chapter 4.9 navigating to a specific waypoint. ST6002 operating guide chapter2 advanced operation and subchapter How do I activate Track mode?

Hope this helps.

RW, If you haven't already tried this, I would set-up an instant waypoint on the SRN and then see if when you put your autopilot in "TRACK" mode if the AP functions properly. Good luck, art

I have the RM 120C and the Navigator, the boat is new to me but all my chart plotting is done with Navigator which works with the autopilot, I never chart plotted with the RM.

From the original description, it's not clear to me that the autopilot is functional stand-alone, let alone through one of the chartplotters. The first check I would make is to select "Auto" on the control head and see if the autopilot takes over steering and maintains the course and will accept course changes from the control head. If that works I would move on to the chartplotter. I believe that the standard set-up for the autopilot to operate through the Navigator, the RM is there for radar display and back-up.

Thanks for the info. The Autopilt does steer the boat and takes over steering. I think my problem is that I have been trying to use my Raymarine plotter not the Navigator. I'm going to check it out this weekend. Thanks

For what it's worth. My autopilot works whether I plot the course on my Raymarine C-120 or the SRN. I usually use the C-120 because personally I find it easier to use. However, the touch screen on the SRN is pretty cool for sliding waypoints around on the fly.
