Atlantic City Rendezvous 2010

Well, after a bit of a delay at Liberty Landing we are finally underway.

Mike is taking an outside shower....I didn't tell him about the webcam I have set up in there. Let me go open up the port.....and don't believe him when he tells you the water was cold....

Dolce Vita (390DA) just called....he's underway. he'll be in Farley's before 10AM.

You mean "Turtle"?

Gary still needs some bow bling.

Just passed by about 10 dolphins jumping my wake. Of course by the time I thought to take pics, they are all gone. Still no sharks though...

BTW the systems monitor says "Emergency Bilge" what does that mean?

Well... we had a nice run up to get here... about 13 hours total...

The potluck "Table of the Gods" dinner was really good:

Although there was some sort of "Hillbilly Meatballs" thing in a crockpot that Mr. Shiny Boat brought along. Here's Mike (Turtlesboat) reaction to a mouthful of those:

Speaking of Mike... He made these really good mudslides on his boat. Dom came over and begged for seconds:

Then stepped in Pigdog's water bowl (turtlesboat) on the way out:

Mumbled something like "let him drink mudslides" as he stumbled off.

He also was playing with a dog toy for some reason:

Everyone is off to the beach today... got up early this morning and the seagulls made a mess of the GARBAGE that was left on the dock behind my boat. My transom is covered with ketchup, mustard and hotsauce this morning. I fully expect you all to come over and wash my boat since my wife and I cleaned up the mess on the dock. Bring some black streak and wax while you are at it. I think the seagulls left those black streaks on my boat.

Here's a couple of shots of our trip up here...

The weather on the manly part of the Chesapeake Bay was great:

Met up with another CSR member on the way up... Mr. Shiny Boat:

The water temps were extremely warm... this was the reading on my helm:

I'm really looking forward to today. This year it was decided that we hold seminars. This morning the first one is "your duck bills and you". Gary is going to show us how to change the duck bills in the discharge pump on a 450da.
After that is "cap it for good", Ron is going to show us how to cap a tooth while under way.
This afternoon alex will host a "sharks are you friend" as he shows us how to safely swim with sharks while drifting in the open ocean.
Before dinner, Vince's friend is going to show us how to "win a crap load of money" in 15min or less at the casino. I'm really looking forward to this one.
After dinner..."filtration and you" as seagull shows us how you can recycle the water in your holding tank.

Big big day today.

Here's some shots along the way.

His water filtration plant is impressive:

I'm hoping he covers his new redesign he hinted about last night.

Oh I forgot one that Gary would have found useful. Dom is going to host the "these are not your grandpas oysters" as he show us how to dive under a boat and remove an oyster from the ac pickup.

I think the seminars have started already. Here's Mike giving a lecture on how to zip through the jersey fishermen who're anchored in the narrow ICW channel:

So, here's how you do it:

Great stuff guys. Have a blast and a mudslide for me. I'm off to get my boat then down to Aquapalooza.

There's also a Bertram group here. They have a reception and dinner. Did Ron arrange one for the Sea Ray group? Noooooo. What? Sea Ray is not classy enough?

Sue, Grant and I want to thank all of you for your hospitality - what a great time! Thanks for allowing "a lake boater" to sneak by the "ocean/diesel" security and join the party.

Just to clarify, my super-duper filtration system can turn the effluent from MY holding tank into drinking water. Not sure it's robust enough for some of the rest of CSR.

Here's Ron at the tooth capping seminar showing which finger to use to best hold the cap in place.
