Anybody going?

Last year was my first and although some here thought that is was a somewhat downsized version of shows past we still had a great day. We've been looking forward to this one ever since.

I think we will go if the Mrs. is on board. Last year we got a room at the Ritz and made a weekend of it. It was nice I thought. Although I am more worried about getting the fever for a bigger boat this year! Yikes

Not sure if I'll make it this year or not???? Still up in the air.

We will be there on Saturday. We used to go Friday due to the crowds but I don't think that will be a problem this year.

The Only Mate has something of a raised eyebrow at the thought...always a bad sign. I believe the problem is that I have reached "toy limits" and we have national holidays coming up...Valentines, her birthday and our anniversary. Given the importance of those primary objectives, she wants to be sure that there are no distractions. I would like to go...I want to do something about onboard TV and internet and can learn from the booths...but it may not be worth it.

Charles,

Jim Shelton (Black Pearl on the Forum) installed a KVH M1 last year. His 340 is on "A" Dock - he is a good resource to talk to about onboard TV - WHEN (IF) IT WARMS UP! Still warmer here in Anchorage than Atlanta!

We are still up in the air, last year was kinda of a let down to us. If we go it will be Sunday.

I'll be working at the Coast Guard Aux. booth on Thursday afternoon and then my wife and a few friends will be there first thing Sat. morning. Can't wait to climb all over the Sea Rays and also check out the Ranger Tugs.

The annual boat show is in town through Sunday. I went yesterday, and am happy to report that Sea Ray had a strong presence. Even better, all the sales people said boats were selling. There were no bass boats on the floor. Did they go out of style? My favorite was a Russian-build flying boat with a radial-piston, engine and counter-rotating props. No price was posted, but there were two of them. They are a military piece and reportedly cost $6M to manufacture.

It is worth the price of admission if you are close enough to get to the show.

I'll be down today. Not sure if I have a spare $6m for the Russian boat though...have to see if my stimulus check got here.

I found a free pass you can print out for today only that you can print out, I'm going ... if anyone needs the free pass PM me (I don't have it handy but will dig it up, I think it is a PDF). I'm leaving by 11am though so PM before that if you need the pass.

Regards,
Jason

Going Sat. Last year there were no houseboats or large cruisers except the 52 Sea Ray. I like looking at the bigger boats.
