This year instead of shrink wrap installed a carport she's all full of antifreeze and ready for winter.Lets see your boats all bundle up for winter.

Most towns around here in NJ would not allow this. My brother up in NY did this, then got clobbered when heavy snowfall collapsed his car port! Needs steeper sides to allow for snow to slide off......

Getting ready for Winter here too! Need to polish the boat again so when I run up the river, she shines like crazy! We were out last weekend and had 2 days over 85 with mod breezes and sunshine! A little rain has followed but back to almost 70 this weekend.

Pulled boat last week, washed and waxed hull past weekend, shrink wrap this week. Will go this weekend clean up props, shafts, do some bottom prep for spring. I will bring canvas home to clean and store. Come on spring!!!!!

I winterized her last weekend, and now am getting ready to tow her down to GA where we are planning on moving in Dec. She'll be in fresh water from now on and burning non-ethanol fuel to boot. She'll be a lot happier in her new home.

The inevitable arrived for me too. :(

Finished the wrap a week ago.

Today's forecast is for a high of 70 so, I'm hoping to get out for a few hours this afternoon. Still undecided about winter storage as I've seen guys out in Bass Boats in February in my lake.

We're bound to get a bunch of lovely days scattered through the next several months....if I had a 185 I probably would do whatever it took to keep it lake ready but winter safe! We get out enough in our 300 to make it worthwhile to manage via our bilge heater and a few other preventive measures.

Catching the last bit of sun last night.

Nice pic. Jealous

Put away in building. Luckily, the establishment allows me to go onto boat and do minor repairs during the layup.

After spending a few warm days in ft lauderdale i had to look at her wrapped up today. Very sad!!!

We plan to spend Fri and Sat night on the hook and come home on Sunday. Will do the full winterize on Monday. We have yet to have a night below freezing here. Fri and Sat are forecast to be in the mid-30s. I would imagine it won't be long....

Mine's still on a trailer because there was a delay getting parts for some of the maintenance, then some sealant didn't cure properly and had to be redone. I'm getting nervous about the next couple of very cold nights--we don't winterize because we'll still go out a couple of times a month through the winter, so we rely on bilge heater and other measures, but there's no electrical hookup in the lot where it's parked. First Mate keeps reminding me that because the temps won't be at or below 32 for more than an hour or so each night, there's very low risk of damage, but I just can't help getting fidgety.

I could just rent a portable generator and run the bilge and cabin heaters overnight, right? :)

This week I traveled on business to the UP and it was quite sad looking at all the shrink wrapped boats in lots--mind blowing, actually, since we have so many here that haven't been winterized yet, or, like us, won't be.

I'm not ready, but the boat is - I'll be back at it in March.

Well the carport is history found out after the fact that it was a zoning problem had to go to the city to get a variance to install .Even thou the church who is my neighbor that is barely keeping their head above water with of only 24 member who was ok with the carport when I first set it up then changed their mind. The carport was two foot back on my property but had to be five foot back. All my neighbor's fences are on the churches property with no permission which is the backside of the churches parking lot and was a corn field before the houses were built here. The biggest offender being my neighbor who is the mayor who also runs the zoning office that the church said they talked to who changed their mind. The church said they did not have any problem with the structure but they did not want to be obligated to offering me access to it. So good bye carport and hello shrink wrap.I was forced to build here 30 years ago because I work for the city run power plant.Admiral and I are in the market for a different house. I built this house but it is time to find something with an acre or 2 with some room to do what I want.
