Are you ready for an EV pickup?

The national target is 50% of sales to be either EV OR Hybrid by 2030. Which means you’ll be able to walk into a ford dealership and buy a F150 EV, hybrid, Gas or diesel.
Do you not get that we are being forced into EV’s. And if you do not then you are willfully blind.

Biden won’t be in office in 2030. An EV is only 5-6000 over the price of an equivalent gas car. And they’re just getting started. They will get cheaper.

stop with this nonsense. I’ve gone out with Republican friends twice this week, and both times, I got to hear about how shitty my EV was and how they aren’t saving the world. This was while we were sitting on a boat that uses more gas in a good weekend then I use in a year with a car. Guess who isn’t getting invited back on my boat.
EV’s are nasty polluting pieces of sh!t designed to take control of travel.

sitting right next to my EV is an ICE. Don’t get stuck in this all or nothing narrative that is being pushed in social media.

additionally, I keep my car charged at 80%. It takes 30% of the battery to get to their house.

Do you not get that you have been forced to buy ICE cars for all of your life? If you do not then you are willfully blind.

And as for legislation impacting what is available, democracies are based on governments being chosen by the people. So, like it or not, the citizens of the free world are deciding the path of vehicles and how they are propelled.
This is a lie. Polling data has not reflected the governments actions in the US…

Absolutely! Get the government EV mandates out of it and also the restrictions on ICE manufacturers…

I doubt that is what you meant…
It is exactly what I meant. But to do that you need to go back and undo all of the o&g subsidies and all previous market manipulation.

In full disclosure I don’t think we really need EV subsidies for the cars. They are already selling themselves. I think we need investment in our grid since our grid is owned by a group of do nothing asshats that will gladly let us utilize the grid to the point of failure to maximize their quarterly bonus.

Something we should all be able to agree on!

Interesting as the grids are subject to the Government in most states as they regulate the monopoly. IL is the worst in that respect. Can you say "corruption."

I won’t deny the corruption, that’s fairly clear. I think that’s also why there is such a strong push for support of EVs at the federal level. It’s to offset the corruption that has been in play for the past how ever many decades.

in our state the electrical companies have been dumping coal ash into the rivers. The state fined them a few dollars and then they raised our rates to help pay for the clean up.

Meanwhile. Biggest bonuses ever.

You'll notice he did not reply to me as he likely can't find a test where the F150 did get it's 300 mile range. FWIW - my F150 would go 650+ miles on a tank when not towing, try that with an EV.

You obviously have not been paying attention. They are shutting down power plants around the world, to the dismay of many who as you said, voted these governments in... How do you figure EVs will be the predominant propulsion in 2050? The generating capacity just isn't here...

Now Germany is scrambling to keep it's nuclear plants online.

Funny, wasn't there a guy who told Germany it was a BAD idea to get energy from Russia?
Yes, and the Germans that were present laughed at him. But he was a mean tweeter and had to go. Now we have a great unifier. We once had a community organizer who was the most divisive person ever in office.

Really? Now I have to doubt your intelligence. Either that or you're a troll.
Show me some numbers to support the claim. And referencing a meme automatically makes you a troll.
The fact is ALL cars are nasty polluting pieces of shit. Singling out EVs weakens your argument. And how exactly does controlling travel
Come into play here.

Didn't say anything about controlling travel. Although it is about controlling how we travel. My car averages 30 miles+/gallon and has ultra low emissions. No children were forced to strip mine rare earth elements to power my car. Nor is any coal burned to charge my car. I use clean gasoline. YMMV.

The post I quoted specifically mentioned controlling travel. “Clean gasoline”?? What is that?

Most lithium mining doesn’t happen in China, so the child labor issue is probably more of a manufacturing issue and not a mining issue. The feds are incentivizing US manufacturing. Let’s see how that pans out.

Compared to coal, gas is clean. Again, I never said anything about controlling travel. Most mining takes place in Africa, so child slavery is an issue. And mining in the US has been largely banned. A lot of NIMBY just like with wind turbines and ugly solar panels.
