Are Auto Gain Glomex TV Antennas Better?

The new Glomex antennas say they offer a better reception with automatic gain adjustment. Is that true, or just marketing hype? Do the new model antennas use existing cables and mounting brackets?

I added one. I can tell you its no worse than the old one with manual gain control. One less thing to fiddle with or mis-adjust is a win in my book. That said, I also didn't notice any vast improvement. Maybe a couple extra spanish-language shopping channels.

The new one was a direct replacement for the old one, using the same mount and cable. Just had to bypass the old manual amplifier.

I have one but didn't install it with the new antenna. I kinda like being able to adjust and turn the power off. Following to hear others experience.
