Only if you want someone to untie you when they have to leave without notice and you float away (towards something very expensive or hard) ask me how I know????

Well after my third year , I was untied in a group of 5/6 boats that where unattended at the time, after the jackass left smiling I was the only one on a boat I started my engines to try and stop the group from hitting other boats (outside) the circle but had to deploy my anchor to stop us. then Mm employees and myself jumped onto the other boats to drop anchors .after securing the boats I went home! tie at your own risk that's what I'm saying .
I didn't buy a boat to have it wrecked. we dinghy into the circle to visit friends etc

We have been to 3 of them. First one tied up with the Raft...was great. Second year yahoo next to us pulled out as he had to beat the boat traffic out of the bay.. Said dont worry, ill back into the circle. Took about an hour to untangle the mes left behind, not to mention the craziness not to damage all of the boats. Last year, went but rafted with a few friends outside of the main semicircle. Was great. We used the dingy or swam. that will be the plan again for this year..........

Brian, the main boats which MM bring along and are used as floating DJ and stage are usually 48 or 58 sedan bridges.

All about staying in the channel............
its a must to enter Zachs from the west entrance and not the east entrance.

you can follow X in..He now knows where the channel is....:)

hoping to get there again , went last year had a blast , stayed on the outside with a group of 20 or so boats , we took a few dingies to the party , good times

The entrance in to Zach's Bay is well marked and you should have plenty of water getting in and out. Some boats go in and out at an unmarked opening at the east end of it, but that is not marked at all and not deep. Really not an entrance, except for maybe a very small boat or waverunner. I've seen the sandbar extending form one side of it to the other completely above the water a few times in a really low tide.
There are some really shallow spots in Zach's itself though, and I would be more concerned about where in a sizeable raft up you end up.

who is going , its only 2 weeks away at this point , weather permitting ill be there.....

Hope to be there for the weekend...Sat / Sun

Been for 5 years, both on VA/MD and in CA. They can be fun, till Mother Nature says enough, and throws her fist. Then it appears everyone looses common sense. I have seen some with orderly, systematic anchorages and that may work. Where we are is kind of a free-for all, so when something happens, its bad. We are going to pass this year and find our own little paradise. I wish Sea Ray the best of luck with all the events!
