Anyone from here heading over to Fairview for Aquapalooza on the 25th? I'm scheduled to be there with some marina friends, was going to keep an eye out for anyone else from CSR that may be attending. I don't have my CSR burgee, but I will look for others.

If the weather forecast is good, we will be there. We have been goiing to them for the past two years and they are fun. We leave if the weather starts to turn ugly. A high wind storm hit last year on Sunday. Shallow water and a sandy bottom caused a number of boats to come loose last year and crash into others.

As long as the weather is good, we will be there. We are a 23 foot Select with the tower, stop in and have a cold one.

We will be in the shallow water with kids playing.

Provided weather and life issues work out, we plan to be there.

We are planning on attending. Gonna head to Colonial Beach Friday night, then head to Tims Sat morning unless we make good time and can go the extra hour. Look for the VT logo on center of my windshield. We have never done this before, so looking forward to some new friends!

I'm at Goose Bay Marina ( go straight north from 301 bridge) I'm planning on heading over Sat. May be with some others from the marina. Keep an eye out for the Wile E on the transom. I want to find Playdate, so he can look at my Genny! :smt038 Still haven't got the parts yet! They are on order, just haven't got them. I will have to make a notepad of boats to keep an eye out for.

Planning on heading up late Thursday night or Friday morning. We will be in front of Tim's but out in deeper water. Look for the only AJ with a port-of-call from Gig Harbor, WA and sporting Colonial Yacht Club burgee. We are out of Colonial Beach Yacht Center.

We were planning on staying at CBYC Friday night. How far from there to Tims? Should we just keep on? I'm sure by then I'll need to get gas, so how late is CB open?

From CB, it about an hour and half or so. I cruise at 30mph and can make it in about an hour, maybe more. Based on reports from last year and what I know of parties at Tims, your going to want to get there early. Saturday morning last year, it was hard to find decent anchorage. We are planning on staying for several days and rafting with 3-5 more boats. Bringing extra water, etc. Wouldn't recommend getting in to close. A lot of amateurs like to pump out while at anchor for several days. My last trip in last year made me want to gag when you got closer to Tims in the calmer waters. At least you have some flow farther out.

As for how late CB is open, just call first. The easiest spot is the false harbor when you first come in. If you get in late and find an open spot there, your good. Just settle up with Kyle in the morning. We are over in the covered slips, but they are all resident slips. The false harbor is the best place, and easiest for transients. Plus you can get gas before heading up. Currently they are at $2.99/gallon. Cheaper for diesal.

Hope this helps.

Ugh, thanks for the advice. If I can get out early enough, I will try to make it Friday evening. But, filling up the tanks will be more important. We are going to spend Sat night at Tims.

I was wondering, for those of you that have been before. My Refrig won't work on 12V anymore, and ice only lasts for so long. How do you keep food and drink cold without running the genny? With that many people all jammed into one area, do people run them?

Planning on just running mine. Will shut it down during the night if I need to, but otherwise planning on using the hell out of it. Isn't this what they are for? To use while on the hook to keep your frig and AC cold, and to charge batteries?

Mine is very quiet, so that has never been an issue. Iam also going to have several coolers for beer, ice, beer and beer. O, and a few bottle of Ketel One.

We are leaving Colonial Beach at mid-morning on Friday now and hope to get a decent spot in front of the pier. Look for us. We will have the CSR burgee atop one of our antennas.

Y'all be careful. I have seen more egregious acts of alcohol fueled stupidity at Aquapalooza than anywhere else on the water. Two years ago an idiot in a flat deck 16' Donzi took off like a bat out of hell form the middle of the Fairview Beach anchorage. Truly Blessed II was on the outer perimeter of the anchorage. Captain Dumbass passed my stern within 50 feet doing 30+ knots, right over where my kids had been swimming a few minutes earlier.
We will not go back to an Aquapalooza event.

We'll be careful. Leaving the kids at home for this one. Redhook, if there is space when we get there friday afternoon, any chance we can join your raft? That way we can run our genny's and tick each other off. :smt043

LOL! :smt038 Sure, no prob. It will be a good time. Have a few more joining me as well.

My wife just got the CSR burgee in the mail as a surprise, so chances are I'll have that on the bow by friday too. Mike

Of course I'm coming. We haven't missed one since they started. As I mentioned in the other thread.....we will be rafted in deeper water this year and using the RIB to cruise around.

Last year we were part of a large raft up in front of the stage which turned into a drunk fest at night complete with fist fights and shoving. It didn't quiet down until 3am. We left early on Sunday which was a real pain to get the boat out of a raft up with all the fore and aft anchor lines deployed. We were lucky and got out of there before a big squall hit and wrecked a lot of boats. The water is shallow close to the stage and the bottom is sand.

It should be a great time....the weather forecast looks good.
