Anyone weigh a circa 2000 sr 210 sundeck loaded with dual axel trailer?

was thinking of getting rid of my 07 tahoe and getting a 09 acura mdx and was wondering if a 4500 pound tow rating would be sufficient for the 130 mile round trip to the beach here in florida

Took mine to the scale last fall. Boat+trailer+full tank gas just under 5100 lbs. I tow with my xterra which is rated at 5000lbs so I am a little over, but I have no problems at all with the flat roads around here (could probably tow with the wifes Odyessy rated at 3500 in an emergency). I do use 4WD often on the ramp at low tide.

Words of wisdom, do not ignore small rattle coming from engine. I heard a small rattle when I was out yesterday so I slowed down and opened engine cover but I could not pinpoint the sound, started heading back towards ramp and 15 minutes later the shaft in water circulation pump snapped. Got a tow home with seatow (best $120 membership I ever bought).

5100:wow::wow::wow:. would have never guessed that much. thanks for the info, where is the circulating pump you mentioned? is that a routine maintenance item that should be replaced every year or couple of years like an impellar

The circulation pump is right on the front of the engine (connected to the top center pulley). My mechanic brother says it's not common for them to fail and definately not a typical maintainance item (usually you will hear the bad bearing or see a leak for a while before one fails) so I think I was just unlucky. Let me know what vehicle you go with. I'm planning on getting a new vehicle for the wife next year and I think I'm gonna base my decision on my next boat.......:grin:.

Yah I would say atleast 5k. When I bought my 2004 220sd I had my lift upgraded from 4.5k to 10k lbs just to make sure.
