I am wondering if anyone has repowered a 280 DA with Mercruisers relatively new V-6 250 hp I/O engines. Mercruiser makes the blocks for this engine at their own foundry and it supposedly performs as good or better than the Mercruiser V-8 260 hp, but weighs a lot less.
If so I'd like to know how it performs and did you still use the Alpha outdrives or switch to Bravos ? Did you have to change the couple going from an Alpha to a Bravo ? Any other info is appreciated.
